Fake Server Trick Multiple Synchs

does the fake server trick work regardless of how many pc's you synch with ?

I had a few issues with the AX recently which I think started when I sarted synching with my works laptop a lot more.

thanks in advance

I used Tweaks2k.net to apply the fake server trick which seemed to be fine when I was only using my Ax just on the desktop. Since synching with my laptop I feel there are more hangs etc. so its just incase that the trick only applies to one synch profile and not multiple ? I mean the security alerts dont come up so I assume it works but then again I have more hangs (also just started using a CF card along with my SD).

How exactly did you do that?

Sorry I mean the "security tweak". But you are touching on a lack of knowledge on my behalf. I thought they were one of the same thing, obviously not lol.

Anyway I did the fake server trick as per spec on the site as well, always do. And switching off error reporting of course. Two things I am lead to believe are a must.

Cheers

For feedback

Ok ... that makes a bit more sense :)

As for if the question, the trick should work no matter what you are syncing with. As long as the settings do not change (time wise) I don't think syncing with 2 systems would have any negative effect.

I would venture to guess that something else you are doing (or have recently installed) has had more to do with it than the second sync partner. I've been syncing with an Exchange server for email/contacts/tasks and 2 computers for the rest of the stuff for a few months...

I have recently started using a 4gb CF card. Strange enough I picked up on a thread on the site where a few chaps had found some strange events after they had inserted the CF card:
Frequent hangs
White screen when in cradle (note I have wifi off)
Said new card inserted even though it had been sitting in there for a while anyway
Couldnt find either SD or CF card through explorer. Soft reset and magically they re-appear.

Should state that it has been more stable for a week and a bit since I last hard reset. I still get hangs once in a while, unit will not power on although the wifi LED will be flashing (uncradled). Mind you my battery only lasts say 1.5 hrs....LOL maybe I aint doing that well come to think of it ? these are similar symptoms for the "fake server trick"......right I'm away to read up on it a bit more.

AJ-If you haven't done the "fake server trick" then you should probably do so before you bother posting any more q's as it will probably solve most of the problems that you have described.

Sorry I thought I said I had done the "fake server trick". It's the first thing I do very straight forward. Just that since I have got my 4GB CF card and started synching with my works laptop alot more when I sit back and think about it I have those symptoms commonly fixed by the "fake server trick".

My 8GB RiData CF card and 4GB Patriot SD card cause no problems. Then again, the last time I synced was almost a month ago...

A thing that changes which could have saved me a hardreset:
When I have synched to my works laptop it changes my proxy setting so when I try connecting to the internet on the roam or on home wifi it wouldn't. Obvious now; deselect the option...... but if I had known earlier I would have avoide a hard reset.
