I have a Dell X51v and it beeps at the start of almost all songs using media player. It didn't do it initially and I did a hard reset not long ago and it stopped for a while. I have x50mix installed and wonder if its related.

I think it is playing the notification wav for message boxes. It is probably an error of some sort, but the message box doesn't show.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I've been noticing that annoying beep as well. It can be pretty painful if I'm listening with earbuds, because the sound is often much louder than the music. I also thought it was some kind of error message or notification, but I can never find any message or window corresponding to the beep.

Also, does anyone find that WMP doesn't close appropriately? Whenever I try to close it (which so far, I can only do through the Switcher Bar), an error message tells me that WMP isn't responding, and if I end it, I may lose unsaved data blah blah blah. Is there a more correct way to close WMP?

I get the feeling that Microsoft doesn't spend a whole lot of time refining Windows Mobile. The Windows Mobile website is shockingly sparse.

Hmm, I've found WMPM to be completely useless and pointless. I would switch to TCPMP before it's too late.

Sorry I can't help with your WMPM problems, but my suggestion stands.
