Won't turn on some days, white screen when cradled...

I have had my Axim about 6 weeks now. I have two constant problems with it. I did a hard reset about a week and a half ago, but I still have these problems. And, the fake server trick was one of the first things I did when I got the Axim and after I did the hard reset. The Axim is cradled most of the day when I'm not using it. At night it's on my nightstand in suspend mode.

Problem #1 is that the darn thing won't come out of suspend about every other morning. I press the power button and the blinking green wifi light comes on, but it won't do anything else without a soft reset. Why it works fine one day and not the next is beyond me.

Problem #2 is that if the Axim screen is off when I place it in the cradle, without fail, it will go to a white screen and then I can't get it to do anything without a soft reset. I have to be very careful to make sure it is on before cradling it, but inevitable I forget once in a while.

Anyone have any solutions or advice?

Most people have had this problem and the best fix so far is to remember to turn off wifi before you turn off the unit. that seems to fix the problem. others have had luck with leaving bluetooth turned on all the time. That seems to work for me although i have an x50v upgraded to wm5 so I am not sure it is exactly the same.

Is there a way to force Bluetooth on all the time? Seems it is always going off on mine.

that depends on how you turn it on. if you turn it on with the BT icon and do the same for the wifi then it should stay on. if you use the button on the side it will get turned off when you turn off the wifi and the same if you use the flight mode to turn off wifi.

Make sure you are running the latest update A06 (i think). A lot of problems have been resolved with this.

Indeed, but 6 weeks ago the devices shipped with A06. I personally have never experienced either of these problems, but the latter is probably because I only ever put my Axim in the cradle to move CAB files that, for some reason, wouldn't download on the Axim. Therefore it is always on when I put it in, and I remove it as soon as the CAB file is copied.

Yes, my Axim shipped with version A06. I've been turning Wifi off before going into standby and have not had a problem the last four days. Thanks for the tips, all!

Re the white screen when in the cradle. Don't insert it into the cradle powered off or in standby. Wake the device up then insert and it shouldn't 'lock up'.

I've found it works fine if it's in the cradle when the machine is turned on. And once in the cradle I can suspend/wake up as necessary. It's just that insertion while in standby that seems to cause a problem.

Yeah, that's what I try to do but every few weeks I forget and do it without thinking and I get the white screen, so I was just hoping there might be a more permananet fix that didn't rely on my memory. ;) I guess there isn't.

I found that if leave wifi on at night while charging, i'll have a white screen in the morning. Bt seems fine. I'm running widcomm drivers.
