CF card disappears.....

I have both a 4GB SD and 4GB CF cards in my 51v. Has anyone else had trouble with the CF card 'disappearing'? It seems to happen whenever the pda is allowed to turn off. The SD card is fine. The only way to get it back is with a soft reset.

I am not sure if I have a bad CF card or have yet another mobile 5.0 power bug.

This is a problem many other wm5 users experience. Their is a way to get rid of it.

I had this issue. Doing a ROM upgrade to A06 and applying the 'Fake Server Trick' listed on this site as a sticky note solved both my SD and CF card issue.

I do still have this issue: I have a german x51v...there is actually only one single ROM-Update (A01) which couldn't solve the problem. I also apllied the "Fake Server Trick" and the DELL-support delivered a brand new axim x51v (for exchange)...but I'm still loosing my SD-card very often after restarting the axim...there are no poblems with the CF-card....

The guys from DELL told me it's a known WM5 issue....i have to wait for the next ROM-Update....

Thanks

The server trick worked on the CF card problem. It did not fix the WSOD problem. I have found that if the 51v auto-offs while WiFi is enabled and you put the PDA in the cradle while OFF you get the WSOD everytime. If you turn it ON first no problem, if WiFi is OFF at auto-off no and put in while OFF no problem. BT doesn't seem to be a problem.

You should be on AO6 and the fake server trick, and after doing a sync stop active sync manually by Start/settings/system/memory/running programs/ active sync .. stop. If you don't manually stop it, it causes problems. Fake server trick stops it from starting on its own, but doesn't make it stop if it did get started.
