I hate to say this, but I am a really inexperienced when it comes to doing registry hacks. I tried to look at the tweek guide in the tutorials and it wasn't too clear. How exactly do you get into a PPC's Registry and what is the exact line you write out in the registry file to put the clock back into the tool bar?

This is the qoute from the blog:

"What you need is a DWORD value called ShowTitleBarClock that is set to 1. The value needs to be placed in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell."

Just from this, I can't tell exactly what to type in. Do you just write this

ShowTitleBarClock = set1

Do you then just write this in the said folder? It would be awesome if someone could outline exactly what to write and how to do so. Especially for some of us who aren't as experienced in registry hacking.

Thanks ahead:)

Download TotalCommander (freeware): http://ghisler.fileburst.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.cab

Run CAB from PPC to install. Launch TotalCommander, then tap on the "\\". You will find this at the top of the directory in the root of your PPC.

Then tap on "registry" to get into the registry.
Tap "HKLM", then "Software", then "Microsoft", then "Shell"

Scroll to the very bottom and tap on the "+Add value+". A dialog box will open up. Name it "ShowTitleBarClock" (no quotes), then make it a DWORD, and give it a value of 1 (Decimal).

Done.

I agree. One of the reasons I did the upgrade was because Solara was kind enough to write a detailed guide of how to do the reg edit! I am very thankful!

Thanks Frenchy and homerg,

I followed the instructions as illustrated, but still no change. when i did a soft reset following the registry change, there were no changes in the title bar, so i went back to the registry editor and "ShowTitleBarClock" was not showing. it just disappear. so am i missing somenting?

i want by clock in the title bar back...

thanks guys.

Maybe it wasn't put in the proper folder. You also have to click Done to save it.
