How do i use tweaks2k2 - VGA brute force hacks for browsing???

Hi,

I installed tweaks2k2.net. I want to use it to browse internet in Real VGA mode. I applied the hack to iexplore.exe but it's all still the same old resolution.

So can somebody explain to me how i can accomplish this? Or is this not possible for iexplore. I know i could install ozVga but i only want this for browsing so i thought tweaks2k2 would be the solution to only do this for iexplore.

But it doesn't work! What am i doing wrong?

Thanks, Jan

What do you mean? The OS's own apps (IEM, FE, MSNM, etc.) run in true VGA by default. So what you are doing wrong is trying to outsmart Windows (which is never a good idea). What do you mean "the same old resolution"? Is stuff big and pixelated, or what?

PIE does double the size of images to compensate for the small VGA pixels. I find it really annoying too. But at the same time, I don't like squinting at tiny text. I wish there was a way to get true VGA graphics while still having a decent text size. The only way I've found so far is to load a page in Minimo and then hit "Increase Text" about 10 times, which isn't very practical.

What I do is use ozVGA to re-boot into true VGA just for web browsing using Pocket Internet Explorer.

Then I re-boot back into SE-VGA for non-VGA/forced VGA programs.

Use NetFront. Netfront does this. It has both a Zoom option and a text size that is global.

So I set my Zoom size low to about 75% (Zooms out). This makes everything smaller allowing you view more of the page.

To compensate for the small text, just increase the text size to 110%.

Now your zoomed out with bigger text. I think this is what you want accomplished. This setting will stay until you change them again. So your not having to increase the font 10x every page.

Make the changes once and forget about it.
