I have a soaring application that I want to run. It needs to talk to a data logger over an RS-232 port. I have the Billionton CF 232 card to connect to the device. I have downloaded the Device Manager from
http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/DevMgmt/, which is very nice, by the way. The Device Manager sees the CF 232 card as Com4, I think it is. But in my program which uses 232, the only available selections are Com1&2. On other threads I've seen some registry entries that could be altered to make more com ports visible, but I don't have a registry editor program, and don't know where to look for the entry to do this for this application. Can anybody offer any help?
Thanks,
Ed
PS - I have also just ordered a cable from Gomadic which connects to the main connector and takes in power and brings out the built-in 232 port, with a level converter inline to change from the TTL levels of the built in port to the +-12v levels that I know the device I'm talking to has. Should be here in a couple of days. If it works out, I'll let you know.
