I purchased lately dell axim x51v. I have about 1500 contacts. I was trying to use the search function in order to find the contacts that share a specific term in the full text of the contacts (and not only in the contact name). I discovered 2 disappointing phenomena:
1. The search took about 30 seconds (!). My old IPAQ 1915 did the same search on the same database in 6 seconds(!).
2. In addition to the adequate search results, the PDA found also contacts that had nothing to do with the search term! They did not contain the search term anywhere in their contact information!
I appreciate if you share with me your experience and ideas.

Did you search "All data" or select the subset "Contacts" from the drop down?

Well, I can only say that I have been unimpressed with the performance of the standard "Find" on my X50V running WM2K3.2 and use alternatives, but your results do seem particularly bad.

I am really beginning to miss the search functionality of my old Palm 3C which could find any text in any file quickly and accurately. Hard to believe that such a convenient feature hasn't been included in the Windows Mobile OS or any third party application.

There used to be a "Search" applet that came with PocketBreeze, but was discontinued a couple of releases back. If you happen to have installed PB awhile ago, it may still be on your PDA.
