Sending Email via Bluetooth

Hi folks,

I've been playingwith my new X51v. I have Bluetooth activated and paired with my PC. I'm trying to send a test email to my email address via bluetooth from the pda to my pc and it doesn't send. If I dock it in the cradle, the email is sent.

Can I send email via Bluetooth from my pda to my pc without havingto dock it?

Any help or suggestions is welcome.

Thanks,

Dave

There are ways of sending files to your pc using BT, however to actually email, ie be connected to the net, you have to activesync using BT. That is possible and the way I connect while I'm at work all the time. I'm using the widcomm project stact and have had no problems connecting activesync as long as the connection is started from the widcomm BT manager.

Your pc, I believe has to share it internet connection (not too sure about this, as my pass through has always worked)

I have to say that I haven't done much emailing that way because I am already at my computer, but I do often keep web pages open on my ax - kind of a 2nd monitor.

As long as you have activesync via BT, you can send email "via BT". internet connection sharing(ICS) on the PC is not required.

If instead you set up BT networking, you need ICS to be enabled on the PC to send email and have internet connectivity from PDA via BT.

So in addition to pairing, you have to set up either
1) BT activesync(with Widcomm stack, or native MS stack with XP on the PC), or
2) BT local networking using Widcomm stack and ICS enabled on your PC
