Need to revert to A06 from A12 URGENTLY

I just updated from A06 to A12. First, I did a complete backup of my previous system. Now, after upgrading to A12, I am getting errors with incorrect versions of operating system while trying to resore from my backup. Eventually it completes the backup, with errors. Anytime after this restore, my axim hangs at Windows mobile and no buttons work at all. The system just hangs there.

I urgently need to know how to rrevert back to A06 as all of my programs and data is in my backup.

As with any upgrade, it's better to reinstall everything and not to count a restore. There are backup programs that claim to have a 'smart' restore so it can restore safely on an upgrade. Check if your backup program can do such a restore.

I had the same problem. I ended up only able to restore: My Documents folder and PIM data. Otherwise device would freeze on load. Programs had to be reinstalled. But that worked out good since I got rid of a few things I didnt need.

The problem I am having now is that I only have a backup file which I created from the Axim Data Backup utility. How can i tell the system to only restore the Documents folder and PIM data? Whenever I restore from the file, I cannot soft rest the system at all. The prgram just hangs at Windows Mobile and does not load the startup screen.

It is too late for me to only backup just the PIM data.

Also, HARD RESET no longer working on my device. I cannot Hard rest my unit. When I press the power button and the reset button together, the confirmation screen that comes up to reset to factory settings or cancel the hard rest just flashes and it does not hard reset. This all started to occur after upgrading from A06 to A12

I need to get help.

I tried to reinstall A12 but my XP computer keep getting the 'blue screen of death' which I have never seen in xp before. This keeps happening over and over.

Sounds like a faulty upgrade to me. Mine went smooth with no issues. AS worked fine for bring all of my PIM information over from my PC. I pulled all of my 'My Documents' back onto my unit from my SD card. All other files were available to me from a backup I did to my PC through AS 'Explore' feature. I would call Dell and request a replacement.

I would
1) Delete the upgrade from the XP system
2) Download a new upgrade from Dell
3) Sart the upgrade again

It sounds like you only did the first part of the upgrade. Did you have to do two hard resets? The first one is just as you say, it flashes by but the the pda boots. The second one is after the upgrade completes and you then got the normal startup screens. Did you get this?
