Question Newbie Questions - X50v, Acrobat, ..

I have x50 with Socket CF x?500e LAN card that does okay at my home and office for net access via Linksys wireless routers. I have about $180.00 invested in this unit. What benefit would I get from "upgrading" to an X50v or X51? Or another newer unit?

It would be great and very, very helpful if I could read pdf files on present system (X50). Should I use Acrobat Reader from Adobe or is there an alternative available that's better?

I have a 256MB SD cards that I use with my camera. Are these "compatible" with X50 and what's the benefit to using one of them - if there is a benefit?

Can memory upgrade be done on X50 and if so, what are the pro's and con's?

Thanks.

Lot of questions - will try for some quick answers on a few of them:

Benefits of upgrading to X50V or X51V = the V mainly means a better screen capable of higher resolution - also possibly a faster processor (can't recall what the X50 has)

Benefit of Upgrade to a 51V specifically = it runs Windows Mobile 5, MS' latest / greatest mobile OS - which is (in my view) a significant upgrade to WM2003.

Reading .pdf files = I have not kept up with latest versions of the Adobe Reader for mobile, but there at least a couple of worthy (non-free) alternatives - Clearvue PDF and Repligo

256mb SD cards = yes, should be useable on the X50. Benefit of using them - additional storage space for progras, data, music, pics etc. - although with just the one slot, you may want to weigh up (now pretty low) costs of bigger cards when you get to storing bigger quantities of data / apps, vs. carrying round mutliple 256mb cards.

Hope that's of some help ...

I have Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0 on my X51V and it reads pdf files just fine.
