I have a x51v that i have been able to use an alltel v3c razr via bluetooth for a dialup modem... problem is i can only get it to connect at 14.4k. alltel is little or no help by the way :rolling: I have changed the baud rate on the ppc but the phone still shows it at 14.4. Maybe the phone wont allow a faster DUN connection but if anyone knows, you all will. I also have the original WM5 BT still. Any thoughts or ideas would be a great help. thanks all

have you checked the postings in the wireless communication for assistance? I followed one of the posting in setting up my x51v and razr v3 and I believe I had a speed faster than dial up (can't remember exact speed). I have cingular service, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
Weeks ago, I tried Razr V3c on my laptop with bluetooth connection. The connection icon shows more than 110k pbs connection. I had Verizon network. I have not tried on X51V yet.
where you using the phone as a modem or using verizons broadband connection, im using it as a dialup modem to a 56k connection. alltel tells me that there is "no way to get it faster without upgrading to a broadband internet package"... not sure but i would think i could get a faster speed than 14k for dialup. I really think the phone is more setup for "data" call for faxes and stuff like that, but surely there is a way.:approve:

You are a HUGE step in front of me. I can't even get it to connect. I have an X50v and an Alltel Razr V3c. Help!!!! Oh and I do have the broadband thing. What do I have to do? They sent me software, but it looks like it's for Desktops/ laptops, not PDA's and are you connecting Bluetooth or by a cable?

im not 100% sure how you set it all up, but there is a number you have to setup for it to dial, then a username and password. One of my friends used this before for his laptop and i think the number was like *777 or something. You have to make a bluetooth connection between you pda and phone. then goto connections and then add a new modem connection, name your connection whatever you want then under that select bluetooth as your modem type. on the next screen you select the device (your phone). then you enter you dialup number (*777, i think anyway). on the next screen you can enter you username and password. click finish and thats all there is to that. If you use more than one connection you can goto manage existing connections to choose which connection to use. Hope this helps

This darn thing says that I don't have bluetooth hardware. It will let me do the bluetooth Dial up Modem. I don't care if I have to use the cable or bluetooth (cable is probably faster anyway.) I am supposed to have taht highspeed thing setup through alltel. If they did that right. Sure seems like they aren't charging me enough for all of that. I did the rest... no connection. Any more ideas?? please!

did you pair the phone and the x50v before you setup the connection? before you can set it up you have to go into the bluetooth settings and add the phone into your devices. im sure there is a thread around here for that, otherwise i dont know if there is a cable that till work for that. let me know if you get it.

Are you in a broadband internet coverage area? I know my i450/7510 do 14.4 in normal areas and 200kbps in WiDEN area. The Razr and Alltel may have a similar setup and you may be out of range of their broadband service. (I dred this myself, as I may be switchign to Sprint and having to fight a Razr for use as a cell modem --- praying that when the 6800ppc phone comes out they offer that instead of a d***ed razr...)
