PowerPoint pictures missing

Hi,

I put together a PowerPoint presentation and saved it on my CF card.

When I play the presentation from my x51v I have no probs and can see the pictures within the presentation.

However, I played the presentation through a projector and the pix were not visible.

What happened?

Can I expect this to happen when playing throgh projectors?

Is there something I can do to prevent the loss of pix when my work is projected for meetings etc?

I would appreciate some help...thanks.

You don't say what program you are using to view the presentation, what hardware you are using to project the presentation, nor how you are connecting to the projector.

I guess that there could be problems at any of the stages, provisional thoughts include:
  1. Software doesn't support external coupling to a projector
  2. the Axim is not reading and sending the file from the CF card properly (it may be worth trying the presentation from the main memory or BIS)
  3. The projector is not compatible with the file format from the Axim
If you can let us have a little more information, it may be possible to identify the pinch points.

Missing Pix in PowerPoint

Jogga,

Many thanks.

I have the Axim x51v and was using the pre-loaded PowerPoint.;

The presentation worksd well on the CF card by itself but failed when connected to a projector....

Is this sort of problem standard with WM5 and also for the standard PowerPoint program?

Should I move the presentation to the hard drive for better viewing?

I will soon be looking at buying my own projector....I guess it becomes the case of trying all in my various price ranges to see if they project from my Axim.

I confess that I am not familiar with the pre-loaded PowerPoint application. Are you viewing the slides via Picture Viewer?

I know that sounds like a daft question, but I don't have PowerPoint (from MS) on my X50 and wasn't aware that there was such a bundled app. I use Pocket Slide Show from CNetX but have never connected to a projector (I use if for revision - a 43 year old student, go figure). You may be better looking at the various applications from Handango and see if there is a better one to suit your needs.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

WM5 bundle for x51v

:approve: Jogga,

The x51v came standard with Word, PowerPoint and Excel. I use the special x51v RGB cable to connect to my TV monitor and then I use the Mirror button to show what is on the PDA is on the monitor.

I'll have to check with respective projectors to see if any specific sort will show the images.

Cheers

Redraven - I recently did a 3 MB slide show using the same method you describe. It came out fine. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I had the presentation on an SD card instead of a CF card.

One of the times I ran it, I did notice a delay in the photos displaying. But once it had time to load them, it ran fine.

How large are the pix you are using? Sometimes I resize photos before I insert them, to keep the overall file size down. Note that for presentations photos do not have to be as huge as when you print them.
