When I am viewing random webpages the page will load then after about 20 seconds of viewing the site the whole screen looks like an out-of-tune tv channel. When I click on buttons they come back, but the background is still screwed up. It is always solved by a soft reset and not visiting that page again. Any help would be much appreciated.
ugh I kno what ur talkin about,I get that on my x51v w/a12,it happens to me when I goto hover and on tagged since they have myspace style backgrounds now but not as often as on hoverspot and its only happened a couple times on myspace and u will always get it when u go here at least that's how it is w/me. it only seems to happen on internet explorer tho.
Opera is the cause of this problem. Go with Netfront. Although it hasn´t worked for me either. Every 1 of 2 attempts to load netfront causes my x50v to crash and I have to soft-reset and then it works flawlessly! Netfront is the best besides this problem.
I also have that problem occasionally when I surf the net with PIE -- usually after an extended time of surfing.
It tends to first disturb my today screen along with the top/bottom bars of the screen and icons on the screen. I can continue to see images fine in PIE for another little while. Then, eventually everything looks like an "out of tune tv channel".
Soft reset fixes the problem .... until the next time.
I'm currently deciding whether to buy opera 8.60u or Netfront 3.3 on my x51v a12 - my findings so far:
1) OPERA: I first installed Opera in main memory and selected as my default browser - I can login and access key features for all my critical online sites (banking sites, vonage, linksys wireless router, etc.) with the major exception of aol.com which does not allow me to login even if i select "Identify as Desktop Computer" - essentially opera is unable to render the login user id & password box, no matter what options and configuration changes i made.
2) NETFRONT: installed it in addition to Opera also in main memory - just to see if it would at least allow me to login into aol.com - I've been very surprised to find the following:
(a) it will not let me login into vonage.com - it gives some certificate error;
(b) while i can login and access my linksys wireless travel router, it does not render the screens properly where I'm unable to select certain functions, which are selectable under Opera
(c) for aol.com - it basically says that aol uses newer technology not supported by my current browser - essentially the same message I get w/ PIE
So my key questions to those using the FULL netfront 3. 3 version on x51v:
(a) Am i getting these results because I have the demo netfront version?
If the question is YES, then I'm be very surprised that a s/w company would provide a useless demo that doesn't allow its prospective buyers to simply test whether their s/w would allow them to login into their main sites/apps!
(b) Am I getting these results because I also have Opera installed?
