I've just bought a OEM 4Gb 150x SD card from the fastmemoryman in ebay (yes, I know!!) and my Axim doesn't detect the card!
I have read through other posts that I need to format it in fat32. I have tried plenty of pretty old card readers/writers, but no one read the card….
I’ve just ordered a new card reader/writer that apparently read this card. It should arrive next week.
Meanwhile I’m wondering if these 150x SD cards from this seller are SDHC, I will never be able to use it in my Axim!
Anyone here have bought these cards from these guys and managed to have it working on Axim?
Thanks a million for your replies!
Ricardo

Don't worry I bought one from the same guy and it's fine :)

Plugged into the Axim, it read as 4GB, yet Win2K via a USB reader

Using Windows to format with FAT32 leaves the card reading as 1GB in
both the PC and the Axim.
However, when I then formatted the card with the Axim (resco file explorer)
the Axim saw it as 4GB and happily, so did the PC.

The problem is that my card didn't work in Axim :( it didn't even notice that there was a card in the SD slot.... (with my old SD 512kb everything is OK....)
Lets wait for the card reader/writer to format it and then I will see...
I´ve bought a 150x 4GB PQI SD card and the X51v has reconized it right away.
Plug into PC Dell Dimension and transfer music, videos and other content. Zero problems at all. No need to format nor reformat.
I just received an email from these guys saying that the card I bought was a SDHC :(
They have changed the description of the other SD cards that they are selling as normal SD...
Is Dell going to launch a new ROM version with support for SDHC???
I tested a 4 GB card from a friend and I wouldn't believe that it works fine because the sales rep. told me the max I can go is only 2 GB. What a blunder for Dell . I am going to purchase a 4 GB rightaway

My Axim x50v recognises my 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II every time. The 2 GB MyFlash Speedy SD that I bought from seller "eluk2000" needs to be inserted maybe twice or three times, but it was worth the thirty bucks or so I paid for it.
Hi, I nearly got caught out with an SD HD card, the price was very low - under £50 for 4GB and when I questioned the supplier in more detail found it was an SD HD - which as stated is a new format and not backward compatable with the SD format.
All that said and done - I have found an inexpensive alternative and am using it now, TOPRAM is a US manufacurer and for under £50 - nearer £40 delivered - you will get a 4GB 150x SD card and a USB converter - so you can read it in your p.c.
I am really impressed with this purchase - which can be made on both UK and U.S ebay sites - I investigated my purchase thoroughly - visiting the TOPRAM website first - and they have extensive feedback.
I think Numa_2006 is saying that originally he almost bought a 4GB SD HC card. Then he found an alternate supplier, TOPRAM, that provided an 4GB SD (non-HC) card for less, and that comes with a USB Converter.
