Is there any other way to unlock the screen. My screen broke (luckily i have the warranty) and now it will not unlock. It is as though the unlock section of the screen doesn't recognize the stylus tap.

Did you check the lock switch on the left hand side of the device?

Yeah, tried that but the problem is the actual screen. I don't really want to do a hard reset yet but if I do will that solve the problem?

It depends on what the problem is. If the problem is hardware-based, then no, a hard reset won't help. Did you install anything new lately?

No, the screen broke today and so that the kids wouldn't mess anything up I pushed the "lock device" part of the touch screen. Now I can press unlock in the bottom left hand corner but when the unlock screen comes up and I try to depress the unlock part of that screen it doesn't recognize that I am touching it.

This is kinda a dopey post, but who knows maybe it will help.

There a little icon in the forum of a lock that you can put on your today screen that programatically (I guess) does what the lock button does. I am embarassed to admitt I don't remember how to put the lock on the screen but its always been a matter of taping the icon and then saying you want to unlock to free the screen. If you don't know its there its easy to over look.
