Another flat batter problem (with a twist!)

Like many others, I have suddenly found that my x51 goes flat overnight. However, I have discovered a couple of "clues" which I hope will help someone with more knowledge than me to understand.

I have discovered that when the Axim goes to sleep through not being used for a couple of minutes, it comes alive again after a few seconds but with a screen full of vertical lines. The Axim then freezes and needs a soft re-set. However, as my back-ups are carried out during the night I do not see this event, so the screen stays on and fully discharges the battery.

So, can any of you throw a light on what's happening and how it can be fixed?

Thanks

David

I have done a bit more analysis an have discovered that the phantom power-on a few minutes after the auto-power-off after an SPB Backup. When the screen comes to life with the vettical lines, bothe the bluetooth and WiFi lights are flashing. The Axim is then locked until the battery is flat and this can only be fixed by a re-set.

So come on gurus, PLEASE give me a clue as to what's going on!

I am going to hard re-set and restore in a minute to see what happens..........

Thanks,

David

A hard reset and restore will only restore your problem, hard resetting and then installing programs slowly one by one and testing inbetween installations will help you find the cause of the problem. Though it can be a long task to do it that way.

It could be Activesync, it has a "nice" way of waking up your Axim every few minutes, have you done the trick in this thread:

be sure to turn off your wifi before you turn off the pda. that fixed my problem. it still turns on a few minutes after you turn it off but it then goes back to sleep.
