Battery suddenly goes dead!

I am going nutz with this issue. I have an x51v running A06 that doesn’t want to hold a charge. I charge it to 100%, take it off the charger and check it throughout the day. At 11:00am, it was only down to 96% battery life (I was checking my email on it, hence the 4% drop in life). By 4pm the same day, 95% (left it in standby the whole day). The next morning, it will not power on. I remove the battery, reinsert it, and it comes up saying that the battery is critically low and counts down to standby mode. How does it go from 95% life to 1% overnight while still in standby? I am getting ready to hard-reset it and install A12. Any other suggestions?

It's a known problem which is solved by the ActiveSync Fake Server trick. I hope it works for you. http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=112638

Also make sure you Close programs when done (not just minimize them).

Try the fake server trick, try getting a program closer, and update to A12 Rom.

I recently experienced a similar thing.
I do have ROM A06, did the fake server trick.

I am about to make a parallel with the faulty reminder issues some are having.

As a matter of fact, I stopped having reminders showing on my screen since about 1-2 months for no known reasons. Although the Axim has it set-up to alarm me, flash the led, and turn-on the screen, only the screen gets turned on, which if done during the night (i.e. the reminder pops in at midnight like the birthday reminders) and stays on (but with LCD dimmed) until the morning. Of course, I have the drained battery issue that specific morning. It happened twice over the last 3 days and, coincidently, I have 2 birthday reminders. Each next morning, my axim was on and 10% battery left. I have te axim setup to turn itself off on battery power when not touch for 5 minutes but that seems not to work. It is like the reminder keeps waking up my Axim but I get no notification on my screen.

My question to you is : Do you have reminders that might turn on the Axim at night (midnight for instance, like the birthday reminder are)? or an appointment that is not properly time set?

Does your reminders act like you expect them to? Mine don't anymore.

I will post a new thread on this.

In fact, in the last year I have the Axim, everytime I woke up in the morning with a dead battery (very low) was because the Axim turn-on by itself due to a reminder.

MarcG,

Notification is a common problem with the X51 (A01 to A12), that's why I rely on my other pdas for appointments. Your problem and solution can be found in this thread. http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...t=notification

Don
I am in the process of cleaning them.

I have deleted funny "birthday" that were entered as all day schedule event and were 1 month off the real birthdaya dates...:exc:

I have downloaded the memmaid and run it. I had 5 duplicates and bunch of funny "no-name" entry like {fdbldun guegtpu} which I deleted.

softreset

I have created a small test appointment to go off in few minutes (16:30).

I have not said that I have loaded the ApReminderPlus application. I have been running it for few months and when I started to have issues (around september time frame), I taught it was because it is not WM5 compatible. No change.

Wow as I am typing this, my reminder went off as before:approve:

Great.

At least one good thing happened today!

Long live to this board.:approve: :) :) :)
