Is A12 the only thing left?

My X51v loses power at the rate of about 50% in the course of a week WITHOUT any usage. It goes much faster if I dare to use my wireless. The only way I can stop that is to do a "hard off" (hold power button down). I've done the "fake server" trick which fixed some other problems but I'm a little afraid of upgrading the ROM to A12 unless I were really sure that it would solve this annoying problem. I basically can't use my device at all for reminders or quick looks as I have to do a full restart to get it on...it takes a minute or two but it seems like forever compared to just pushing the power button and having the thing turn on. And on wireless, it's only practical to use it plugged in!! Please help! I know many people have had power issues but I don't see any "one-size-fits-all" solution.

No, I resolved this issue while on a ROM update of A06 by using the 'Fake Server Trick' listed on this site. I will say though that A12 has resolved all of my issues including the one you have with out any additional tricks or adjustments to my system.

I didn't need to perform the fake server trick on my new axim with ROM A12. Is this normal? Only sometimes when I use magicbutton, I was able to see activesync active. Then I just simpily close it and it never comes back again. :)

tbmcnamara - Are you sure you don't have any other programs running in the background when your Axim is off? How often do you charge it? How old is your battery?

I primarily use my X51for PIM, reading RSS feeds off-line and some light web surfing. If I charge it every other night, I don't have any problems. I've read (and seen) where WiFi usues about 1% of your battery power every minute or so.
