SNES and NES Emulators Woes

Hi I have a dell Axim X51V with Rom version A11. Everything is working on it except for the SNES and NES emulators they just lock on startup or when launching a game. I have tried many ROMs and many different emulators they just don't seem to work. The Game Boy emulator works fine though. A buddy of mine has the X51 426 MHZ and I think his bios is the A06 or something like that but his works fine. Mine is the 624 X51V bios A11 and nope nothing. If I upgrade to A12 will this fix the issue? I have had the Axim for almost a year and if I upgrade to A12 will this clear out all my stuff and settings? Is it worth it just for games? Please help.

I believe it would erase everything that is on your RAM. You can back things up to your PC. BUT as for fixing the problem I have no clue - but it might work.
