X51V with ROM A12 & Dell GPS Not Working...Please help

Hi,

I have an X51v that is running ROM A12. I just bought the Dell Blue Tooth GPS with the Dell Navtech software. I loaded the software but it won't run. When you double click it , it looks like ti is going to start but nothing happens. Has anyone else experienced this? I have read that other people have it working but not on A12. Does anyone have ROM A11 that I can download from them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

Paul,

I upgraded my ROM from A06 to A12 about a month ago. I really have not seen any benefit from upgrading to the A12. I am not having a problems running the Dell GPS software. You might want to try uninstalling the Dell GPS & installing it again if you haven't already. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. It should work with the A12 ROM.

One thing that you might want to try is cleaning out all of your temp files. I have been using Pocket Mechanic, which can be downloaded at www.antontomov.com. It has a registry cleaner, free up ram, & clean up your file system to name a few of its many utilities. There are other programs out there that do the same thing & some of them are probably free.

It is possible that there are unused registry keys & files that are just junk causing problems. Also temp files & other garbage on your device that are not needed & can be safely deleted.

Hope this helps,
Jason

I have the Dell GPS software working fine on Rom A12.

I did have problems with the software which were resolved by downloading the latest version from http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=162552
but this is only for the European version
