Multiple ActiveSync synchronization folders

I'm new to the PDA world, and have a question about installing and using ActiveSync synchronization folders.

During the initial installation process, a synchronization folder was created on my computer when the PDA was connected to the machine via USB connection via the ActiveSync Wizard.

When I connected a different PDA (same model, different device) to my computer, the ActiveSync wizard was invoked again and created a second synchronization folder (WM_OwnerX).

Is the ActiveSync/synchronization folder specific to a particular Dell Axim device (the model used is X51V)?

Hopefully my question can be understood by someone out there

Thank you in advance.

With all due respect, please read the manual that came with your Axim.

With all due respect to frebitz if you can't answer the question you shouldn't say anything. To the question it is device specific (however you spell that). If you go into device info you can change the name of your device therefor changing the name of the storage folder. Hope this helps!

Yes, you should have two folders in the PC's My Documents folder. Each one will have a specific name as ActiveSync will ask for a device name when creating the link.

The hard copy manual I got with my X51V did cover this. You can change the name of your unit and doing this will create a newly named folder that will contain your units information. This newly named folder will be the same name that you can find on your unit under the 'start', 'settings', 'system', 'about', 'Device ID' tab. At this tab level you can change the default name of your unit, thus creating the same named folder on your pc through a AS session.
