Aximsitex5icon Device.exe keeps crashing!

I just got my X51v and finished installing my software. I finally had to turn off error reporting. I cant launch NetFront (havn't tried much else --- not sure that netfront is compatable with WM05, it owuldn't work on my X50v with WM05 either), I cant even enter text in some places... it's 10x as bad in TrueVGA mode.

Can anyone tell me whats happening?

What version of netfront is it? Chances are that it isn't WM5 compatable.

Most people turn off error reporting anyway as it hinders more than it helps....

It's netfront 3, I believe, it's a few years old; I used it on my X5 (only version I actually got the key for...)

I saw there was a version 3.3 on their site that claimed to be WM5 compatable, but I can believe that a version that's a couple of years yet still within the same version numbering scheme just won't work on modern devices.

Why not drop them an email and see if there is a discount to upgrade to the latest version.

Have you changed your avatar from the leopard faced one yet? I've got that one on my ad-blocking list as it's a bit freaky.... :D

Hehe, I kinda guessed that the picture would be of you or someone you knew. It did look very well done, though I did find it a bit odd to look at. I must admit I thought it was a halloween costume of some sort, but having an SFX makeup artist in our midst is pretty cool.

Getting somewhere near the topic here, have you tried Minimo or Opera Mobile? Minimo can be a bit quirky and takes an age to load (though UPX4PPC can help that) and Opera is pretty sweet on the VGA screen but costs money. Neither really support the Flash plugin or Java but they're both pretty capable browsers that are properly VGA-aware unlike PIE which is VGA aware but chooses to make everything intentionally stupid.

What are the benefits of Netfront? I've never really tried using it....

heh, thanks, but keep in mind, I'm not a pro by any means, I'm still learning and unlike some of the people I know I've not worked on any major movies (I acctually know one of the makeup artists who worked on Lord of the Rings, also Babylon 5, and Hollow Man!) lol just wait till I get enough time to REALLY do a blow-out job, most of my stuff is <5 hours.

I tried Opera a little and liked it, but I didn't want to pay for it lol. If it comes down to paying, I'll got for whichever the less-expensive one is. I have a flash player for PPC, but I dont know how well it works.

The main benefiet is Netfront's JVM. Otherwise I liked what I saw in Opera just as well.
