Physical Accident Bricked my X51v need replacement

okay, well, I've dropped it a few times, this time I dropped it and got some moisture in there as well. It'll turn on but the buttons don't really work and the touchscreen won't respond. This cannot be worth repairing and I don't see myself buying another Axim unless I can find a good-condition used one (Anyone have and want to sell?), so, what should I buy? I'd like VGA, need bluetooth and wifi, more than 64mb ram would be nice. What is around?

Toshiba e830 and the Pocket Loox N650 are good choices ;)

I had a Toshiba E830. It's a great unit, but the casing is its achilles heel. One drop, and the case cracks open. There are also little cracks that form in the top corners and eventually spread so that it cracks open without even dropping it.

Sounds like you should first look into a rino drop resistant case for what ever replacement you get. Or maybe a lanyard strap around your neck.

The old ipaq hx4705 is pretty good if you can find one now.

It’s a bit big and clunky but it really takes a beating. I have dropped it down concrete stairs in parking garages.. it did crack the case.. dropped it on sidewalks a few times.. yes it does fly apart.. lost it in the backyard for a couple days where it lay in the sun and the sprinklers got it. Dried it with a blow-dryer. All in all I have been pretty hard on it but it still worked. It looks pretty bad with tape and silicone glue holding it together.. but it sure is a tough little machine. US airlines lost it for me.. I might get it back one day.

My new Axim is due tomorrow though.. I hope it is pretty solid..

I thought the Toshibas were no longer being made. I am taking a gander at the Loox. I liked my Axim, but, honestly, it was bugged. I'd like something with a _real_ Bluetooth stack this time, for instance.

I would rather not buy from a company that will not continue to update the firmware and etc. Toshiba is still a current PDA manufacturer?

Okay, I like the Loox C550, but how could I buy one in the US?

The x51v is rather flimsy. The main problems center around 1) the battery case cover and latch and 2) the SD and CF card holders. Do not drop it!

So, is there a way for a person in the United States to buy a Loox? The N560 looks perfect. But it's expensive; currency conversion would be another hit. Is it possible, or will I have to jump through hoops?
