Hi,

Every so often, my axim x51 will not start when I press the power button. It seems quite random. Can occur when only turned off for few minutes or several hours. Plenty of battery power left

The only way to start is by performing soft reset.

Anyone had similar problems or have any ideas?

Hmmm? Did you try wiggling the power button, or depressing it on center and then side to side? I have a Palm TX that does that, and I have press it a couple different ways to get the Unit to turn on and off. I have since found a software resolve for that problem.

I've never had that problem with my X51v, but perhaps others know of a similar software resolve like I found for my Palm. By searching PocketGear, I have found the following that might help:

I have a similar problem in that mine locks up pretty frequently. Let me know if someone might have an answer there.

Next time it happens, check to see if the green wifi led is blinking. On my x51v I was having this problem. I find that if I turn off wireless when I am not using it, it happens less often. I was also having the 'open battery door' problem which seemed to make the 'not turn on' problem worse.
