Aximsitex3icon No sound in speaker but, sound in headphone Jack?

Hi guys, i'm using an Axim X51v and recently my unit stopped producing any sound via the speaker but, i can use the headphone jack to hear everything. I have done both HARD and SOFT resets on this unit but, didn't help. Any idea about this issue ??? Or this might be Axim's speaker related problem? I would really appreciate any help or troubleshooting hints.

Thanks in advance

I had this happen to my X51V after a month of use. The headphone jack thought that something was plugged in when it wasn't. I fixed it by working the plug in and out a few times. It hasn't happened again in the past few months. I hope your problem is this easy to fix.

This is a known problem with the headphone jack and if you do a search in the hardware forums you will find a number of references.
The easiest fix seems to be just push the plug in and out a few times until the contacts connect.

I had a replacement because of this.
Since then I used BT Sterio Headphone and haven't looked back since.

I also had to replace my X51v because of this. I seldom listen through speakers, but still...it ought to work! I tried re-inserting the plug MANY times, but to no avail.

No, DON'T spray WD-40 in there. Another poster did this just a few days ago and ruined his screen.

Headphone jack fix

Thanks for that suggestion. I had a feeling the sound loss was related to the jack. My last sound was when I was using GPS in my car holder.
I added one more step, I sprayed silicone spray on the male jack before working it in and out of the Axim.
Now I won't be missing my alarms anymore.

No sound in speaker, but sound from Headphone Jack.

This site continues to amaze me.

The alarm did not go off to wake me up this morning, no sound from the internal speaker. After getting to work, and much rending of hair, wailing, and gnashing of teeth trying to get the speaker to work, I decided to check the Axim Site.

Two seconds later, the problem was solved. Thanks to one and all.

Its probably the speaker got disconected or damaged. If you open the unit (will void the warranty) the speaker is in the upper right corner of the board.
