Screen locks and freezes overnight.

My X51v has worked perfectly since the A12 update but just lately I am getting an annoying problem.
I use it as my alarm in the morning but once or twice a week it lets me down. I can turn it on to check the time (which is after the alarm time) and that is as far as I can go. It completly freezes and won't respond to anything except a soft reset which restores it to normal operation.
The same thing can happen without the alarm being set (weekends), I turn it on and I get my today screen and it is frozen until I soft reset.
I can't see any pattern to when it happens and I haven't added any new software. I also did the fake server thing after the ROM upgrade.
I'm going to Finland for Christmas and will have to be up at 2.00 AM to get to the airport so a reliable alarm is essential although I will probably set a second one just to be safe.

I don't use my ax for an alarm, but this sometimes happens to me. I do have weather programs that like to update on my ax. If I have not turned off wifi properly I think the wake up at midnight allows the wifi to get my weather updates, which can start a cycle of updating that keeps the wifi on and if it is not cradled, drains the battery to a point where it shuts itself off, but then stays "frozen" at 12:10 or so am.

Activesync being active can also do the same thing, although if you hae the FST going, that should not be a problem. Good Luck

Always wanted to go to Finland, but I'm not sure I'd give up my summer days for Finland in winter. :) Have fun.

the FST undos itself on A12 after awhile,i noticed that back in august and i haven't reapplied it since but i dont have any battery drain.

Thanks for the feedback. I will do the FST again and look at my weather program.
Interestingly, after the soft reset I get the wi-fi indicator at the top of the screen even though wi-fi is off. I have to turn wi-fi on and off again for it to disappear.

The wifi on, even though you think it is off is a tell tale sign. I think it's the weather program. I have both pocket weather and fizz traveller. It seems to happens with both of them.
