To print directly from the device (like you could with the stock Psion) PrintPocketCE $39.95 (others like the ClearView Suite with JETCET PRINT but that is roughly the same amount of money. It is a preference thing).

You are correct. It does not work in WM5. The error says the HPPrintCenter is not signed trusted or some component is missing.

Maybe jetcet would work?

Yes it is possible with 3rd party software like HP Mobile Printing
HP Mobile Printing for Windows Mobile*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

How to Print Wirelessly from your Pocket PC news and reviews for Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Palm, Microsoft Smartphones and Symbian cell phones.

Or check out Field Software, I have used their products in the past to print via the infrared port of the Pocket PC to the infrared port found on some older printers;
FieldSoftware - Home

As for "Microsoft just doesnt understand what the people really want." actually Microsoft understands what they want, Microsoft makes FAR LESS money for a copy of Windows Mobile then they do for Vista or XP, so it's in Microsoft's best interest to cripple mobile apps with limitted functionality so you choose to buy a laptop or UMPC. Me I decide to go for 3rd party apps that have full functionality instead.

I'm sorry vreimer, you are mistaken. HP Mobile Printing DOES NOT work with WM5!
It has been stated here and other threads on this site from individuals who have tried and tested the software - it will not work on WM5. The links provided above have been DOA for some time - HP is no longer offering the software nor supporting it. Their 2 versions (2002 and 2003) might be found through other AximSite members, but it's worthless unless you have a PPC running WM2003(se) or before.
As a matter of fact, when I installed the 2003 version on my X51v (wm2005) it caused all sorts of problems, including some sort of slow down on the SD Card recognition, yeilding SD Card and SD Card2, multiple broken links to programs and data on the original card and a loss of functionality.
With regards to HP Mobile Printing and WM2005 - Don't Do It!!!

I will try the ActivePrint Basic version for half the price of the others and see if it truely works on printers connected to a wireless network.

OK, ActivePrint Trial worked out pretty well!
There was better formating on the printed documents than I was getting from HP Mobile Printing, I suppose ActivePrint retains more than the HP proggy did.
The ActivePrint does work well on a wireless network - BUT - (yeah, BIG but) unlike HP Mobile Printing which sends directly to the printer, you must have the companion ActivePrint program installed on at least one computer on the network and that computer - must be on - when you want to print. HP Mobile Printing did not require this.
I don't think it is a big deal, my PC is usually on, but I did get a little annoyed when I had to boot up the PC when testing the software - at first I didn't think it worked!!!
Basic version for ActivePrint will cost you $20 I believe, HP was free...
