Question Print a Document

Is there any way to send a document to a printer with the Axim v51v?
Thanks, Barrie

sure, but it involves expensive 3rd party software unfortunatly. one way to do it for free would be to use terminal services client to remote control a pc and print from that pc. Microsoft just doesnt understand what the people really want. Good bluetooth and printing!

You can use HP Mobile Printing. Look in myPDA for the link since HP is stupid and won't even host it on their site, let alone provide updated versions.

Assuming that the document is a synchronised file, why not just print it from your pc?

If it isn't:
  1. Navigate to the relevant file using AS Explorer
  2. Copy it (Right click and copy)
  3. Paste the copy to a holding file (My Documents or similar) on the pc: the pc will convert the format if necessary
  4. Double click to open and then File & Print (or similar)

Costs nothing :approve: but does rely on you being connected to your pc host :realmad:

I think thw whole point of that this person is trying to do is all without the use of a PC.

Where did it say that in the post? I must have missed it.

I was trying to point out (in common with the other posters) that it is not easy to print from the Axim in isolation of a network (if not impossible): the device needs to be connected to a printer of some kind and a ultility is not available (bundled on the Axim) to do this.

However, that doesn't mean that documents developed on the Axim can't be printed at all and I was merely suggesting how this might be acheived. In other words I was trying to help and add some value to the thread.

Jogga, I don't think anyone was trying to discredit you because you are right your method dose work. I thinkall of us are just trying to help. I see no bad will in what fjl307 stated in his post. It is just common Knowledge that prior to WM 5 it could be done realitively eaisly with a few stylus strokes using HP mobile printing and at this present time their is no easy or cheap solution to printing from the Axim X51 without spending lots of money or jumping through some small hoops to doing it manually. I think we were all just trying to help. I don't have any problem with what you said. Cheers.

Thanks TechnoGuy, I wasn't particularly upset by fjl307's post. Although, lately it does seem easier for people to point out the (perceived) faults in others rather than contributing to problem solving.

Maybe I should stick to bumping threads and the other Water Fountain post boosters rather than helping anyone else. :hide:

If a printer has wifi, bt, or ir and ur axim has it, it is possible to print from ur axim to the printer, but it has to be set up.

HP Mobile Printing app is great. I could never get it to work with my epson, but i just got a hp photosmart 8250, and i selected the photosmart 7000 series driver, (b/c this app isnt up to date anymore). I didnt think it would work, but it did! You got a great app hp, why arent u updating it?!?!?!?

Try ActivePrint. It's cheap and it works great if you have a wireless router.

With printers offering Bluetooth connectivity these days, I felt it was a good time to bump this thread to the top.

That said I have a Canon Pixma 510 with an el cheapo Bluetooth 2.0 usb adapter.

My question is how do I print to it?

I've tried "beaming" it to the printer, communication goes well then an error message pops up on the printer. Something about no photo data/photo data too large. Now I know the printer supports printing from a XP laptop using bluetooth, so I've concluded I need a piece of software on my Axim to print.

Is there a piece of software for WM5 that allows printing using Bluetooth?

Thanks...
