Screen Brightness

I am unable to change lenght of time screen stays bright if device is idle longer than 15 sec. I go to settings, system, brightness, battery power. I have the "Dim if device idle for more than" box checked. I have changed this to 3 min. Then when I turn the device off and then back on it reverts back to 15 sec. This is a pain. How can I get it to stay bright longer than 15 sec? Is there a default setting somewhere that I need to change?
Anyone able to help me? Thanks

Try PocketTweek. It contains an override setting for this.

I have the same problem on an X51V A012. PocketTweak 4.2.7e doesn't seem to make any difference.

How is this supposed to work. PocketTweak settings don't seem to be preserved either

I would do a hard reset and then try the setting. I have my X51V (ROM A12, hardware revision A12) set to 5 minutes and it stays that way through a off and on and through a soft reset.

same issue here. it is caused by doing a restore with any of the popular backup programs and a hard reset will fix it. you can fix it for a while by going into the register hkey_current_user\ControlPanel\BackLight\ and delete the key for TimeoutSaved then go to hkey_current_user\ControlPanel\BackLight\LockLevel and change the LockLevel to 0 then exit the program you use to modify it. Then change the timeout to 3 mins and it should stay that way for a while. I found that when something happens to the wifi that causes the pda to lockup it changes these settings any you have to do it again. But this seems to last for days and sometimes weeks before I have to reset it again. Also seems to work better if you wait a few minutes before you do a soft reset, then it seems to be ok after that if you do have to soft reset.
