It just for some reason just froze up. I couldn't get it to move past the first screen and even go into the log in spot. I soft reset it a number of times and then tried the hard reset and nothing..... What do I do??? (she said in total panic!!!)

Check your lock switch

1) make sure the lock switch on the upper left side is off. This happens to all of us. The switch is both a blessing and a curse. Then try it again.

2) If you have an SD card pop it out and try and back in. Inserting an SD card will start a unit up.

3) remove the battery for a couple of minutes and then try again

4) Put it on the charger for a while then try a soft reset again.

Yes, lock switch, but if it's freezing, that makes o difference...

Might I also suggest a program like Pocket Controler? or a Bluetooth/IR/etc keyboard/mouse? you can move around the today screen using the navigation pad, so try that too (might be the digitizer broke)

and when all else fails, call dell... I, atleast, have had success in communications with them.
