Hey all, I need some help with getting my axim to tether to my samsung blackjack over bluetooth. I don't know the required settings for dialup with the x51v over bluetooth to cingular nor the settings to hook the blackjack to the axim. it is not showing dialup usage available. can anyone help me with both of my issues?

x51v doesn't support bluetooth period. Face it, you got scammed. And don't bother. Just look at all the pattern of problems related to x51v.

That's a false blanket statement. Take a look at the later posts in the radimus's second link for proof. X51 users have also managed to get BT to work with GPS, keyboards, headsets (with some hacking), etc.
Ok I tried all that, but i cannot find any dial up bluetooth settings for my blackjack. When i search for connections over bluetooth, i find it, but no services for it. It reads SGH-i607, but then does not list ANY services for it. Any thoughts anyone?
if when you pair the blackjack to the axim, and then from the axim you explore the bluetooth device(blackjack), you find no services, then you need to fix the blackjack to provide the services.
It is not unheard of for a provider to cripple bluetooth on devices or to leave services disabled.
Once you have made the services available, then the links above will help configure the axim

Bluetooth internet would not work with my T-Mobile Razr until I purchased their wap service for $4 a month and then I needed to google around and find the proper address to enter into the modem. There is a basic wap service that comes with the basic plan but it is useless. The setup address was not found on the T-Mobile website but on a private MotoModers website that I ran across after much surfing on google, yahoo, and others. Then I used the information found here on the Aximsite along with the MotoModers site to set up my device. It works great. So as was said above, i doubt that it is an Axim thing but it may be a problem with your phone service and your set up. Also, of course, get the widcom stack working. It simplifies things considerably.
The statement about bluetooth not working at all is absolutely false. It is hard to get it to work some times. Some times it has nothing to do with the Ax but with your accessory or the set up on your lap top, or with conflicting programs on the hand held (such as pocket weather's auto sync function which needs to be turned off for BT to work properly). Some times your own human error gets in the way. BT Syncronization is another story. I do not understand the variability there. Mine works now with some diligent effort and self education. My security software tends to push BT syncronization out unless I join a private network first. That is not documented anywhere. I figured it out from infrences gathered from various posts. Then there are my own mistakes that have gotten in the way like accidently turning on the XP Firewall (I do not know how I did that but nothing worked when that happened). Bottom line, do not be too quick to blame one device when other software, hardware, and your own human error are contending with eachother.
Here is the bluetooth setting for dialup modem for Cingular:
(1) Dialup number: *99***1# (yes, it looks strange, but that is what it is)
(2) User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (make sure you use upper case)
(3) Password: CINGULAR1 (upper case)
interesting.. everything I try to get my blackjack and axim50v to connect to each other fails.. big_redfox.. can you explain the steps needed on both sides to get to this?
what I did was... I turned on BT on phone
I turned on BT on axim
I then added a new modem connection with the info in your last post.
I then tried to connect with IE and it said trying to connect and then just errored out.....
I'm not a happy camper... I thought I could use BT to link to my Cingular phone and tether... is this not the case? Thx for the help!!
I am using my cingular Razor to connect and send this posting over my axim x51v using BT. I installed the widcomm BT. I used the cingular settings posted by Big_Redfox
The problem has to do with Bluetooth PAN support and the interaction between the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack and the Samsung BlackJack bluetooth stack.
I too have a BlackJack and an Axim x51v. I too cannot create a data connection between them. I also have 2 laptops with bluetooth, one with a Toshiba bluetooth stack and one with another implementation of the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack.
The laptop with the Toshiba bluetooth stack CANconnect to the BlackJack and make a successful PAN data connection. Though failing to see any data services available, you can still step through the configurator for a PAN with the Toshiba stack, and then connect to it. So, I have made a successful PAN data connection with my BlackJack. Unfortunately, with the WIDCOMM stack, the configurator just fails on the data service finder and allows you to either search again or cancel the setup.
I am not clear if the actual failure is on the part of the BlackJack to identify itself as having PAN functionality (which could also be the Service Provider trying to lock out that feature) or the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack to adequately support a non-self reporting PAN device or at least offer a manual PAN connection configuration. Since PAN tethering is possible with the Toshiba stack, I'd say the fault is largely with the WIDCOMM stack.
Just for the record, on my Axim, I tried both the native Microsoft bluetooth stack included with the Axim firmware, as well as the customized WIDCOMM stack that has been provided here. I will admit that I last used the customized WIDCOMM stack on my Axim as of a couple of months ago. If someone believes a more recent stack has been released and may address the BlackJack / Axim PAN problems, I'd love to give it another go. Hope this at least helped clarify what is going on for others experiencing the same difficulty.
