date and time continually resets

hey just wondering if anyone else is having this problem..
recently my date and time has been resetting on my a lot, especially when my battery is low.
i also lose my appointments, but not any installed programs or contacts...
i think i need a new backup battery or something but i have no clue.
if anyone knwos how to fix this or where to replace my backup battery please help me out

what rom version are you on ?
which country are you in ?

Since you posted in the X51 Hardware forum, I assume you have the X51? Anything running WM5 does not require a backup battery since WM5 supports persistent memory. Your device will not lose its data when the main battery drains, but from what I understand the date and time will reset. It sounds like your device is acting normal. You just need to charge your battery more frequently, or get a larger capacity battery if you want to avoid the resets.

the reason for the additional questions was because I have experienced similar issues. I noticed that after upgrading my ROM to A12 my date and time would reset to July 1st 2005. I had never noticed this happening before. The suggestions for root cause were either something software Vs ROM issue or a bust capacitor on the PCB. The latter I am not sure.

I never followed it up further.

Because I modded my cases to fit a 2200mah battery, I swap quite a bit and was experienceing the same thing but so long as I swap quickly all is good. My guess is your letting your bat go dead.
