Hi. Am new to this forum. Have had an x51v for more than a year now, and it's been nothing but trouble. 2 main problems :
1. odyssey client - recently sorted
2. wi-fi connection - not sorted

Essentially, I have wanadoo broadband at home (with a Livebox), and use my laptop via a wireless connection. The Axim will detect this network but refuse to connect to it.(will consistently say WEP key is entered incorrectly).

It will connect to my neighbours (unprotected) belkin 54g network - when viewed through Settings-Connections-Dell WLAN-Setting-Configure wireless network.
But then when I go to Internet explorer and try to open a web page it will say "CANNOT CONNECT WITH CURRENT SETTINGS etc etc" and then take me to a menu of 3 choices - VPN, proxy server etc - none of which seem to rectify the situation.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Am I being incompetent or should I just take a 3-wood to the Axim. Cheers.

First, for the WEP on your own network, use the hexidecimal key (10 or 26 characters, depending on the security you are using).

For the "cannot connect with the current settings" issue, go into the network settings - Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Advanced (tab), Select Networks and select "My Work Network" from both of the pull down lists. Then tap the Edit... button under either list. Under the Proxy Settings (tab), the top box (This network connects to the Internet) should be checked but leave everything else on this page blank. After tapping OK, make sure both dropdown lists are still set to My Work Network and OK your way back to the Today page and then soft reset.
