Seems like good news so far :approve:
The trick is patience, one application at a time with a reasonable test period in between. BTW, I find that a soft reset after loading each new application helps with stability: I have no idea why, it just does.
thought I had it licked. then, it hung up overnight. It appears to be caused by either Memmaid, SK Tools, Pocket Stars, Pocket Earth, Resco Audio Recorder, or Resco Pic Viewer. I went back two saves till a time prior to those programs being added and it was finae all day yesterday, overnight, and all day today. I also have not added any games yet, but I doubt games are the problem. I will add one of these programs a day and see what happens. Geez
Memory was never an issue. I run most of my stuff off my 4GB CF Card
Storage memory and program "run" memory are different. Using a program such as memmaid will allow you to see how much memory a program is using while it is running. If you have a lot of programs open at one time you can run out memory no matter how much storage you have.
Don't think there are any old school managers such as qemm and ramdisks for the windows mobile.
Thanks. I had a freezing problem too. I did a hard reset, added programs, soft reset each time, and a backup after each program install. I found one program that I wanted to use but my axim didn't like. It also made my x51v give me the error reporting message constantly. So instead of deleting the program, I did a hard reset and recovered from the last backup. I installed the rest of my essential applications. Left it on all night (not in standby) and the device seemed fine. Previously, it would have frozen and required a soft reset. I've been playing recorded shows on it since 7am (currently 10:30am) and so far no problems. Combined with it being on all night and 4+ hours of continuous movie playing, I expect it to freeze by now. So far so good. I hope I'm not speaking so soon.
