I just got my old X51v replaced because of battery cover issues. I loaded my programs on the new one and now it feezes when I turn it on.
What I mean is, if my Axim is in screensaver mode, no problem. But, if I turn it off at, say, 1:05 and then turn it back on at 2:15, it is stuck at 1:05, or whatever time it was when i turned it off. I need to do a soft reset every time.
Are either of your wireless connections on when you turn it off. If so make sure they are turned off before you turn it off. Also make sure that you don't have a program that wants to sync with the internet on a regular basis and tries to access wifi when it's not on.
As suggested, backup your device and then hard reset. Then test out if your device freezes in its factory state. If so, then you have a defective device. If not, then test the device after each new program you reinstall. It is a slow process, but you can isolate the problem.
An alternative is to use SK tools and clean your system and try and the problem.
In either case, you will need to systematically identify the problem.
well...I hard reset, loaded SBSH stuff and Agenda Fusion and SPB Backup and did a backup. Tested it a few hours. Then I loaded my books, like Bible programs, Mobipocket, Isilo, and MS Reader and did a backup. Overnight it seemed fine. By making various backups, when it starts freezing, I can go back to the backup before freezing and figure out what programs I added. I think next I will load clocks and calculator.
When I first got my 51v I had a similar problem after loading it with programs. The only solution was to hard reset and reinstall. Like you, I made incremental backups until I found the problem. It is not uncommon to find some interaction amoung the programs that causes the device to go crazy. With the backups you can always return to a working state without going through the whole process from scratch. Once I have a stable setup, I've made backups of the setup and I use SK Tools to maintain the system. So far, so good. Good luck in your search for the problem. Hopefully, you find it. Sometimes it is just the order of install that causes the problem.
