It's not a matter of how the Axim can benefit an electronic engineer but rather what tasks you need to perform that will fit in the functionality of a Windows mobile handheld with specific capabilities.

There is a pile of engineering apps for PocketPCs. What do you need to do? Do you need to interface an IEEE488 bus to test equipment? Do you need to take measurements or run simularions?

You need to look at the models of HP, Dell, and other PocketPCs to see what specs match your needs and go from there.

You also need to see what software is available that fills your requirements as well as any interfaces you'll need. You need to look at the hardware requirements of thos to see what PDAs are capable of running and or working with them.

Carry an empty film can (or other plastic tube) with you. Wave it over a piece of equipment while staring wildly at the axim's screen, then (drawing breath through your teeth and shaking head slowly) say;

"It's gonna take a while... Could be a costly job..."

For an even more eye-popping effect, fit the film can with some blinking LEDs.

Besides what? Addresses, calculator, email, spreadsheets, word documents?

The Ax can do quite a bit including AutoCAD in the event
you are designing circuitry.

PocketCAD will sync with your destop when needed. Updates drawings from
desktop to PDA or PDA to desktop as required.

Are you needing an excuse to get a PDA from the employer or the misses?
