As far as I can tell -- you have to purchase a copy of Outlook and install it on Vista to be able to sync contacts/calendar/etc. from your Axim to your new vista machine. Outlook was preinstalled on my old DELL/XP machine -- but I can't find any directions anywhere on how to get outlook onto a new Vista machine.

I think it's time to move to a non-MS platform for my contacts/calendar... as much tinkering as I've already done to try to sync on Vista -- I could have been tinkering with Google Gears (BETA), and probably already had my contacts database moved over to gmail. :(((

I’m a new member and have some input regarding a sync issue I had with Vista, first I downloaded the Windows Mobile Device Center v6 at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...icecenter.mspx but I couldn’t Sync after many hours I found that one must make absolutely sure the USB to PC advanced option is OFF, you can do this by going to START, SETTINGS, CONNECTIONS, USB to PC, unselect the, after turning this setting off I instantly connected to the Windows Mobile Device Center.

I hope this can help someone - as it sure had me stumped

P.S. I’m never giving up my X51v as a matter of fact I have just purchased 4 more of them off eBay for family members, not as gifts they will pay me back off course, I sure prefer the Free WI-FI as opposed to the $80.00 per month phone/internet charges all these idiots are paying with there new Pocket PC Phones, that have dinky screens and limited memory, I sure don’t want to replace my Pocket PC as many times as I have replaced my phones.

Steve, are you saying you can sync without Outlook???? Or that you need outlook, plus you need those settings you wrote about????
