Try to find Makku's thread titled "SDHC driver for original aku 2.3.1 ROM". It will work on your device and doesn't hinder your axim's ability to read and write to normal SD cards.
I just got an axiom 8gb sd card... and I can't get my Axim x51 to recognize it... any suggestions? I've done the hard reboot... and even restored factory setting? is there a driver or patch that I need... the Dell site is worthless ...
Hi,
i got a 4gb sandisc SDHC card for my axim x51, i inserted inti the slot and it perfectly fits in but the card is not getting readed (it says that it is not installed, when i check the memory). when i contacted dell support they say that axim will not support more than 2gb card, is it tre, is there a way that i can make my 4gb SDHC card work with the axim x51, i need max capacity.
any help on this ASAP will be much appreciated.
Thanks

I'm wondering if I should go for a CF or SD (replace the current 1GB card). I want max capacity so I'm looking at the 4GB SDHC cards.
Can anyone confirm that the SDHC will work in my Axim?
Neat - although I admit not having written the data at least by the looks of it an 8GB SDHC works in my x51v patched to WM6 (size is detected, no obvious errors). Cool! I guess I'd have to try accessing the data to see if it works for real or not.
I used to run a 4 GB SD card and an 8 GB (120x) CF card. I actually filled the 8 GB card with videos for my daughter. My PQ 4 GB SD card was a piece of junk and literally started falling apart in less than a year. Since my 8 GB card was full, I upgraded to a 16 GB (133x) CF card. In trying to keep expenses down, I found a great deal on a 2 GB micro SD card with a mini and normal SD card adapters (for future devices) to replace the PQ SD piece of junk. Anyway, I am now running with a 16 GB CF card and a 2 GB SD card with no problems and lots of storage. My CF cards were both Transcend and worked well. My SD cards have been Sandisk, PQ, and AData. All worked well except the PQ which worked fine except for falling apart in less than one year.
I have a X51V and while I was digging thru the registery I ran across one in the drivers section that had SDHC driver in it. I have WM5 w\ A06 ROM version. I don't know if that means SDHC is supported or not but it might be worth looking at!
I know this is raising a topic from the dead, but I figured that would be better than starting a new one on an old topic. I was just wondering, does this 4GB limit apply to Compact Flash cards as well? Or can the Axim accommodate large CF cards? I haven't really been able to find anything on this part, everyone like talking about SDHC :)
