I thought my problem stemmed from updating the ROM to A12 however that seems to no be the case. Dell desnt me a replacement unit and I am still having the same troubles as follows;

I now believe the issue is somehow a result of me reformatting my desktop PC.

Once I set up the Axim to access wifi from my Linksys Wireless-G router, I can easily access email and the internet.......that is......until I sync.

After a sync (using Activesync 4.2)...when I attempt to access wifi internet I get this message;

"The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again"

So, I then go to the advanced connections tab, where both options are set to "My work network", and then on to edit, and proxy settings. Here I see that the box is checked for "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet" and then the following info; Proxy Server pd2px2. I can uncheck the proxy info and immediately get access to the internet straight away however the problem is that every sync the damn proxy info is redisplayed....

My desktop is not set up to a proxy though? I use Shaw cable. I am firewalled but have all the Activesync options selected for exception. This DID work for the last year prior to me doing a desktop reformat. I have hard reset the axim multiple times and fresh installed activesync.

I would be forever indebtted to anyone that can help.

One call to my ISP, one to Linksys, and 3 calls to Dell including them sending me out a replacement unit but it was Dell who finally solved the issue.......and it figures it was something so simple.....a setting in my upgraded version of Activesync.

In Activesync, under file, connection settings, I just had to change the "the computer is connected to" option to "internet". The default setting was "automatic" and that was sending a false reading that there was a proxy set up on my home system everytime I synced.

Doh!
