Question X51v sound VERY low compared to X5... problem?

I was using my X51v to play some music. I had the volume turned to 5/6 on master, and something like 7/10 on TCPMP and furthermore it was foinf through a nice set of adjusted speakers which were about 50% volume (and I think 25% treble and 75% bass, but I suspect this is a moot point)

I had the need to use my PDA for more than an mp3 player, but I really loved this album and wanted to keep listening to it without all the clicks and beeps that the axim would make if I left the sound on. So, I pulled out the SD card and popped it into my old X5. I had the volume muted, thankfully. When I turned it to 1 and TCMPM to 1, the sound was obnoxiously loud! IT didn't hurt my ears but it was not a volume I wanted to be listening to for long, and since the X5 was at the lowest volume possible outside of mute, I had to turn down the speaker's amp!

So, 5/6 master and 7/10 TCMPM amp on my X51v is approxamitly equal to 1/6 and 1/10 on my X5??? Is the X51v's soundchip that underpowered or is my X51v dieing???

My x51v's sound is also too soft. I listen to talk radio, and listening without headphones is pointless.

x50mix program helps. I use it to keep from having to crank up my car stereo so loud when playing off my x51v.
