Paint coming off on directional button?

Hi,
I've had my x51v since only November 2006, and I noticed that there is a small chip on the "Up" part of the direction button. At first I just thought it was dirt, but now it seems like it's chipped paint. It looks a bit dark, so it seems like the unaffected parts of the button were painted silver. :realmad: Am I right? Any quick and easy ideas to fix this problem (i.e. what kind of paint, etc.)? It's kind of annoying.

Thanks!

Mine has it too, but on the down button. Just deal with it, I guess.

Mine is doing that too, but I often use my nail on the directional button to flick pages when I'm reading books so I guess I only have myself to blame.

It does look like the silver is just painted on to a plastic button. Somewhere in the Tips 'n' Tweaks forum is a thread "Tips from the Trenches" and part of it is about the silver coming off the power button so it is a kinda common problem...

Yeah that sucks.

I have an iPAQ 4150 also and have had it for 2 1/2 years and I never saw paint come off on that.

Just live with it. Anything that you paint it with will come off on your fingers. It doesn't make the device any less functional. And if the device is now ugly, then all the better: it will be less likely to be stolen.
