No, that's how I load things to my card. Too slow doing it through ActiveSync.

Just make sure you Safely Remove the card. You probably ran into trouble because the card somehow got corrupted maybe? Oh, and make a backup of your card as well in case it really does get corrupted - and it will.

Maybe try turning on your axim before you insert the card... I know the Axim turns on when you insert a card, but my axim does not recognise changes to the card unless I insert it with the axim powered on...

JohnDaddyo...

For someone who needed help you sure came on with a rotten attitude. Just because nobody had a lightning fast answer or something? If I would have had an answer for you I would not have posted it. We're all here to help each other, not call each other names. Someone made an honest attempt to help and got called names? Give me a break. So if they misread or missed something they get called names too? In my opinion this whole thread should be deleted except for the fact it may help someone who won't call folks rotten names.

I had the same problem once on my Imate Jasjar. My SD card was inserted in a card reader at photo print lab and later when i inserted it back in to PDA, the applications stopped responding. Shows a message like "Certificate not registered" or something. I had to reinstall all my applications. Later too, i got the same error eventhough the card was not removed. A softrest fixed then.

There is an application called WM5torage somebody posted in a thread in this site. When this application is activated, it disables Activesync and connects the PDA to PC like any external drive and you can access it through windows explorer. Even it shows the"Safely remove drive" icon in the system tray. Coping files is as quick as any card reader this way.

Hope this helped you. If not, please don't call me names.

Funny how you or both of you chose to skip replies and pick out just the one post. You did not read how he retracted his, at least thought of how "impatient" I must be and admitted he "thought" I was trying to do something totally different? You both did not catch that??
You also did not catch the reply I sent to him thanking him nicely for actually admitting his error and then trying to help me? You didn't catch that?
There was NO hint of me being "impatient" in any of my posts. None.
You and possibly another chose to either interpret my original post as such or didn't read the entire thread. You are 2 out of possibly 10 involved in the thread that decided to go in an entirely different direction.
I've made my "peace" with that fellow and all is and has been well.
I would advise in the future to try and refrain from getting into others situations before knowing all facts.
He made a sarcastic, borderline inflamatory remark which he later retracted and I went out of my way to thank him. Case closed until a later comer or two decided to jump and attempt to stir things.

A good "Golden Rule" to follow in forums might be, if you are not trying to help and contribute, please do not post what might be seen as inflamatory remarks. Understand that the person starting the post is likely frustrated and smart, sarcastic replies are only going to start flames.
I see it all the time, don't you?

I did what you said plus a system restore and voila!!
Back in business!!

So considering what I was wanting to do, transfer a fairly large amount of data from pc to CF card.
Should I NOT pull the card from the Axim and just leave it in??
Although if someone is transfering 100's of mbs it could be...tedious :)

Many thank to ALL of you who offered help!!!
Blech! I can tell you this much - DON'T sync large numbers of files via Activestink - more than likely your Ax will crash.

I have a 16GB CF card that holds my music collection and there's NO WAY ON EARTH I could do it via Activesync. Trust me, I've tried and it completely locks up after transferring about 20 songs.

Card reader all the way dude!

Just as a side note (which I find interesting). When syncing via WMP 11 to my CF card through the card reader, it will transfer th files needed for each playlist but not the playlist itself (the song order if you like). As soon as I put the CF card back in the Axim and sync again through WMP, it syncs the playlists up - weird!
