X51V Touch Screen doesn't respond

I have a used X51v that the touch screen just went belly up. The screen displays file, it just will not respond to touch anymore. I've hard reset it several times and no luck.

Anyone know of the best way to get it fixed?

Maybe by a new screen & replace it... but I'm worried that it may not be just the screen, it may be a chip that processes the sensor input.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim, welcome to Aximsite

I know that this is a stupid question (but I'll ask it anyway), have you inadvertantly applied the lock button on the side of the device?

When you do the hard reset and do you get to the point that it ask you to align the screen? If so does it actually move the cursor when you touch the screen but never get past that point? If that is the case I had that happen to me about 2 months ago. I called Dell resulted in a refurbished PDA being sent to me. Just a heads up

Welcome to the Aximsite.
If you have no warranty and want to replace the touchscreen PDAsmart will do it. But the touchscreens on ebay will be a better price. However if you send the Axim with the replacement screen to PDAsmart they will swap the screens.
OR if you feel geeky then you could replace the screen yourself.
