Activsync not recognising device unless I do hard reset.

I've gone and bought a new cradle because I thought it was that that was malfunctioning but now it turns out that my PC (or activesync) doesnt "see" the Axim in its cradle unless I do a hard reset. In itself, I suppose I could live with that if there wasn't any problems with doing a hard reset everytime I wanted to synch my stuff. Any advice on either of these issues much appreciated.

Are you saying you have to do a full Hard Reset not a soft reset to get it recognised?
Has this just started happening or has it been like that from the beginning?
What version of Active Sync are you using?
Are you connecting to a built in USB or are you using a Hub?
Is it an x51v or something else.
Have you looked in the Active sync forum for an answer to your question?
Do you have a firewall?
Do you have Anti Virus?

I think you might mean that you are doing a soft reset in order to synch. A hard reset would mean you lose all of your data and applications each time you do it, defaulting back to factory settings. Nine out of ten times, I have to soft reset my device to get it to synch as well. It's rather annoying but I have never found the cause or solution to this and it has been the same over the last 3 versions of ActiveSynch. Please post back if you figure out a solution to this.

OK, soft reset, does that do much harm if you need to do it regularly? I wouldn't turn my PC on and off like that. As for the other points, I'm off to seek the help in the Activsync forum cheers.

I soft reset at least once a day. It doesn't harm the ppc. Here is a thread that shows just how often people are actually soft resetting.
