X51v frozen during start-up menu

My X51v refused to recognize the SD card. I did several soft resets & finally a hard reset. I cannot get beyond the Pop-up Menu screen--the one that asks you to Tap and Hold on 9:00 AM. Prior to to Hard Rest, there ha been no tapping problems.

Make sure that your hold switch is in the down position. You also might want to do another hard reset. If that doesn't work try taking the battery out and let the PDA site for five or ten minutes.

I personally would shut down the Axim, take out the SD card, then do a hard reset. After it boots Windows, I would shut down the Axim, put the SD card back in and turn the Axim on and let it find the SD card. Also, have you done the Fake Server Trick, as a disappearing SD card was one of the symptoms of needing this fix.

I had all the same symptoms the first day with my x51V and fixed it with the fake server trick. No hard reset. Thanks Axim Site.

I agree with one exception. If and when you get the unit to come up do a ROM check to make sure your at A12. If not then an upgrade is in order. After I did this the A12 ROM upgrade solved all of the issues I had previously with my X51V.

I tried to upgrade from a06 to a12 and now my Axim x51v hangs at the Dell blue screen and will go no further. I have tried hard and soft resets to no avail. Removing the battery does nothing. Do I have a brick?
