X51v, back from a watery grave... just two issues left

If you have followed my other thread, my Axim has recovered, by magic and by some TLC. But there are two things that aren't working yet that I was hoping others might be able to help with.

The first is the internal charging circuit. While in the cradle, it doesn't charge the battery. It can run in the cradle, and the battery can be charged by itself in the cradle's separate battery slot, but the battery in the Axim in the cradle doesn't charge.

Can someone show me a diagram or markings to see what parts of the motherboard I should check for more corrosion?

I guess I could get a spare and just switch them out every day, but...

And the other issue, is something I guess I could figure out on my own, but the down button for the dpad doesn't work. I checked the trace and it looks OK. I haven't tested the microswitch yet.

Since that whole part is a separate module, does anyone have an extra they could give away or sell? I'd like to have the down button working.

But other than that, it works great!!!

well, I have a couple new problems... the wifi started to not pick up my network. It worked before I fixed the screen cable, so maybe I messed something up in that process, handling it too much. Does anyone one have a diagram as to which chips are for the wifi?

And bluetooth isn't working right either. It was working yesterday for a while, but now, when I enable it, click OK and then come back in, it is disable again. So I can't enable it.

Both were working, but now neither...

Any ideas?

Have you tried a hard reset? Maybe it just needs a refresh. Typically when wifi and bluetooth freak out it requires a hard reset.

Alternatively you can try the Widcomm BT Hack and see if that fixes it. If it still fails to work, then you prolly have some hardware problem.

I think the BT and WiFi are both controlled by the same radio. So maybe something came loose since then.

I don't have the answers your looking for, but just trying to provide with a little extra brain power to make sure your not overlooking the small details.

I tried those... but nothing. After a hard reset, same problems. Wifi doesn't show my network, and BT doesn't stay enabled.

I'll take it apart again to see if there's something obviously wrong...

I'm kinda bummed cause it was working when the backlight wasn't...

Incredibly, and I mean incredibly... my Axim is now working at pretty much 100%!!! I've just let it sit in the cradle for the past few days, and the charging light started lighting up every so often. So much so that it works as expected and the light it green now because it charged up correctly!!!

And, strangely enough, the bluetooth started workign again as well! And Wifi!!! All by themselves, just by sitting in the cradle! I can't begin to explain how happy this makes me.

The only thing left is the down button not working, but I think that may because I took it alart so maky times, well over a dozen so far.

So, this thing just doesn't want to die!!!

Does anyone have a spare keypad?
