Date resets itself after battery change

I think my Axim X51v's capacitor/internal battery is dead. Is there anything I can do? My warranty is over though..

Just reset the date each time you change your battery (a pain but not much left).

Technically, the effect of a long battery removal/capacitor discharge is the equivalent of a soft reset with the x51v, so I would it may be software related, possibly something to do with DST updates

I took only around 15 secs to change battery. I will try hard reset and test my PPC again.

Does this also happen when you fully power off the Axim?

(You can accomplish this by going into Power in Settings, and then changing the options so that a full power off happens when you hold down the power button, instead of dimming the backlight.)
