Connect to corporate lan

At work there is a corporate lan that we connect to, wired and wireless. In order to get to the internet we use a proxy. Business rules prevent me from attaching my Axim wirelessly directly to the network. I need a certificate in order to connect and the network management group guard the certificate fearlessly. Is there a way I can connect an AP to one of my lan ports on my laptop ( I have 2) and somehow get my Axim to connected wirelessly to the AP to bridge to the corporate lan so that I can get access to the proxy and ultimately get to the internet from my Axim?

Hope I have explained myself :-)

Regards
Stephen

Not without permission. If you wan't to connect another device to your work LAN, you will have to contact your network admin and get permission.

What about connecting via an Ethernet CF Card? Would that do what you wanted?

Here's one from Computanet Solutions with the full technical specification here

If you look at this page:

http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto...-xp-bridge.asp

If I connect my own AP to the corporate LAN through the WAN port, the network administrators will be able to see a new device connected.

What I intended to do is this:

Connect my work pc to the LAN though the ethernet cable. Connect the AP WAN port up to the second ethernet card. Set the IP on the second card to the same subnet as that which the AP is DHCPing on. Bridge the two LAN cards with a software bridge. Connect wirelessly through the AP and connect to the internet using the proxy IP. I have a username and password to get to the proxy.

Questions
1. will it work?
2. will the network admins see the software bridge?
3. without going around with a wireless signal detector will the AP show through the network bridge?
