Headphone jack repair.

I have an X50v and my headphine jack is dying. Any one know of an at home repair that is easy enough for the technically challenged?

I think 75.00 at PPC techs is a little steep, but it may be that I'm just clueless.

Thanks

What do you mean by dying? Loose contact? Crackling noises? Recessed jack?

If it is still under warranty you can send it back. I've got a replacement when mine developed a loose jack.

Mine is starting to do the same thing but I haven't done anything yet about it. I have used PDASmart.com in the past for other unrelated repairs and they were very good and reasonable.

I only get one channel of sound most of the time unless I move the headphone jack and that is usually only a temp fix.

Try putting A LITTLE switch cleaning fluid or WD 40 on the jack plug and then inserting it into the jack socket and pulling it out and re-inserting it several times.

May not work but it is easy to do and worth a try. Make sure that the jack plug is damp rather than wet.
